Julie specializes in travel, action and lifestyle imagery; she excels in photographing people — just doing what they do.
She started her career as an educator after attending Duke University and completing 2 master’s degrees in Colorado. She spent a decade teaching but after moving back to her home state of Utah in 2001, she took a photography class (postponing looking for a ‘real’ job) and never looked back. While raising 3 boys, she incorporated her business in 2002 and her hobby/passion became her career. Since then, she has photographed the famous, — and the not-so-famous — all over the world. Her love of travel landed her in Baja California Sur, Mexico in 2017.
She is now a legal permanent resident of Mexico but still spends time in Salt Lake City, continuing to shoot for several Utah publications and locals. As a Baja shooter, she loves to photograph people enjoying the scenic landscape… portraits, lifestyle, travel, sports, and events… including weddings. She is always up for a challenge or just a simple shoot. After decades, she still finds her Happy Place is with a camera, or two, in hand. Her images illustrate the way she sees the world, in big bold color.
